Because no one should have to navigate grief alone
What We Do
Through the Fog is a nonprofit organization supporting widows and widowers through the practical and emotional aftermath of losing a spouse. We exist to fill the gaps that government programs and traditional support systems leave behind — providing one-on-one coaching, financial guidance, legal navigation, meal support, childcare assistance, home repair, employment support, and whatever else someone needs to keep their life intact.
Our model is simple: one coach, one client, whatever they need, for up to five years from the date of loss. No means testing. No demographic restrictions. No arbitrary timelines.
Why We Do What We Do
Because grief doesn't wait for paperwork to clear.
Because a widow shouldn't have to choose between paying the electric bill and buying groceries while she's still learning to sleep alone.
Because a widower who never handled the finances shouldn't have to figure it out in the first thirty days after his wife dies.
Because the systems that are supposed to help don't always reach everyone who needs them — and the gaps they leave behind are real, and painful, and fixable.
Through the Fog exists because no one should have to navigate the worst years of their life without someone in their corner
